The Women of Amphissa by, Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema c. 1887
“Shhhh...There is a secret history they don’t want you to know. It’s the history of how women were once revered, in all cultures and societies, as people of power, whole and complete, on their own, with their own knowledge, and ways of being, and of moving through the world. ”
My Loves,
It is the end of February. This night of the soul has been long, and the shadows deep. We have kept to ourselves - spinning dreams, holding hope, standing watch, guarding our beloveds to keep them and ourselves safe.
We have listened, and gathered bits of information, some bits sharp like onions, some sweet, like ripe succulent berries. And while in the belly of our isolation we have woven stories, recorded history, and changed ourselves, even as our world has changed around us.
Now, we emerge, wiser for our ordeal, stronger in spite of our wounds, with words; stories, poems, and songs clutched tightly to our chests. There are tales of grief and anguish within us, and also songs of pride and victory - losses and gains as we met each challenge in ways we may never have thought possible.
Tentatively, cautiously, we peer out from darkened places as the ice melts, and a new light cracks the dawn. Carefully, we come together to awaken gently, to share, to celebrate, to hold ceremony, to hold each other tenderly, to BE.
We’re so looking forward to seeing you. -Gaia
Now, in our 25th year, Gaia’s Womb brings together two strong presenters who hold the keys to some of the mystery and the magic that comes from weaving our voices through song and story.
Join us for a special weekend of Emergence – of rebirth, of coming back to life.
Share the space of the tribe, the sisterhood; a soul feast of camaraderie, connection, laughter and wisdom.
Gaia’s Womb Changes Lives.
